Dance

Valley Middle School of STEM is proud to offer Creative Movement Dance as a part of its elective offerings to 7th and 8th grade students.

This class is open to all students, regardless of previous dance training or experience, and studies a wide array of dance topics such as hip hop, musical theater, jazz, social dances like Swing dance and Bachata, all in a fun and inclusive environment.

Students also participate in 2 evening performances during the school year for families to come and watch including an end of year performance that includes mostly the student’s own choreography!  This is a great class to add more movement to your day, to put a smile on your face, and to spread the joy of dance.

A smiling Ms. Kristin wearing a purple shirt, beige cardigan, and hoop earrings stands before a blurred background of green foliage.

She has been teaching in District 196 for 15 years, both at Apple Valley High School and Valley Middle School of STEM.

Her goal is to spread joy through movement and teach students to be confident performers, strong dancers, and creative humans.

Her middle school students come from all walks of life including previous training at studios, training from family and friends, or brand new to dance!  We work hard in class and have a lot of fun.
